About Mahogany

Mahogany hardwood lumber exhibits beautiful grain patterns and coloration, with a reddish brown heartwood that often exhibits an optical illusion known as chatoyancy. Its medium-coarse texture and varied grain patterns -- from straight to irregular to curly and wavy -- makes Mahogany a particularly striking choice for a number of woodworking applications. Plywood, turned items, veneers, furniture and boat building are but a few of the many common uses for Mahogany. A variety of Mahogany wood and lumber products are available online, including Curly Mahogany lumber, African Mahogany boards, veneers and edging, and turning blanks.
